I'm an Executive Creative Director originally from Cape Town, South Africa, currently based in Toronto, Canada.
At the age of 18 I had no idea that advertising existed as a career, and in fact got into it later than most after a successful culinary career as a Chef in Europe and Africa. Since then I’ve been working hard to make up lost time by creating the best work possible, and have been lucky enough to have had incredible people help me do that along the way.
Some of the work I’m proudest of has made global headlines, won agency business, sparked furious debate within the NBA, and resulted in me working alongside celebrities and some of the most talented people in our industry. My last role was at Juniper Park/TBWA heading up the Creative Department. I’m very close with my clients, and that relationship shows, as for the most part we have created work that goes above and beyond the brief.
I’ve worked closely with creative departments from Dubai to Toronto to inspire and engage those around me, spearheading huge growth and brand uplift for GoDaddy in Canada, helping our Virgin Airlines launch make front page news in Dubai, tackling Pepsi with a Coke campaign in Egypt, and landing new business accounts including Cadbury, Pfizer and TurboTax.
I’m a firm believer that the creative mind is still the most powerful tool we have at our disposal, and that if you work in an agency, regardless of your department or title, you’re a problem-solver first and foremost. I also believe that you should love what you do, and am always keen to jump in, help out, and lift spirits.
Outside of advertising I race bicycles as hard as I can. And when I travel, I generally travel for sport… Climbing, surfing, cycling, cricket, rugby, snowboarding, you name it, I’ll travel to play.
